The book aims to be a comprehensive guide, serving not only curious hobbyists as a reference and source of reproduction but also preserving and modernizing much knowledge for generations to come.
The book does not claim to show THE way but presents, alongside the traditional approach, my personal method of tailoring.
The book "How to Tailor a Jacket" will acquaint you with a foundational section covering all the handwork techniques needed. As a special highlight, it also presents and explains my own pattern system. You will learn step by step and in great detail how to draft a jacket pattern and work with it from start to finish. We will take measurements together and create a pattern. Then, we will work through the first fitting together. I will guide you through the fittings, show you what to look out for, and how to address fitting issues. We will work through all pattern pieces step by step and conclude our journey together with the final pressing of your jacket.
Note: For everyone who doesn’t want to draft their own pattern, the online shop offers the finished pattern in sizes 44–64. Please note the slightly adjusted measurement charts.
